What are the Performance Level Tumbling Classes?

Tumbling Classes are Intermediate and Advanced levels that require ongoing training to ensure safety and progression.  Students in the SDC Dance Program have the opportunity to compete, additional performances, master classes, and workshops throughout the state. These are designed as 9-month programs to provide continued and structured progress.

 

Tumble Starz Supreme: Intermediate Tumbling with exposure to gymnastics apparatus including bar, balance beam, vault block, and floor exercise.  Students refine basic skills including Safety Awareness (how to fall), intermediate rolls, handstand and cartwheel progressions, limber, round off, acro skills, balance beam level 1-3 skills, upper body and core strength on the kip bar.  Taught in progressions so students are able to progress at their own rate, increasing confidence and independence. Recommended for boys and girls after placement assessment.  Attire: Bare foot, shorts and t-shirt/tank top or leotard/biketard, long hair must be securely tied back in pigtails or braids.

 

Tumble Starz Elite: Advanced Tumbling with exposure to gymnastics apparatus including bar, balance beam, vault block, and floor exercise. Students’ progress to advanced handstands, cartwheels, aerials, walkovers, power tumbling combinations, handsprings, tucks, pikes, and twists, acro skills, balance beam level 3-5 skills, and bar level 1-3 skills.  Taught in progressions so students are able to progress at their own rate, increasing confidence and independence. Recommended for boys and girls after placement assessment.  Attire: Bare foot, shorts and t-shirt/tank top or leotard/biketard, long hair must be securely tied back in pigtails or braids.
